The postponement by one year of the introduction of the Platform Code VVR until 1 July 2020 was reason for the magazine Passenger Transport Magazine to conduct an extensive investigation.

In recent weeks there has been quite a bit of commotion and concern about the postponement of the introduction. For example, a fundamental difference of opinion between both parties is what is given in the article that they will not return to.

Nevertheless, journalist Wim Faber asks himself where the sudden fear comes from to offend a person, institution or supplier in this matter. Maybe there are other motives why they keep their jaws tight together? Or even worse: withdraw promised interviews or swallow given quotes.

It is clear that there may be more to this than just the concern about the safe transport of wheelchair users and that the picture Platform Code VVR still has some weaknesses.

Social Fund Taxi director Henk van Gelderen said in a response to the editorial staff of the magazine Passenger Transport Magazine that the research is not 'happy'. He states that the (taxi) industry has its own plan when it comes to the safe transport of wheelchair passengers and fellow passengers.
