FNV Stadsvervoer has agreed a new collective labor agreement for the 2000 HTM employees in The Hague. Any follow-up strikes are therefore off the table for the time being. The wages of bus and tram drivers will rise by 2019% in 3,2 and again in 2020 by a percentage equal to inflation.

“Unfortunately it took a strike, but it worked. There is now a good result. ”

The year-end bonus will also be increased by € 2019 in 500 and an extra € 2020 in 400, a generation pact will be introduced and all temporary workers will be employed who work in the road service.

Eric Vermeulen, director FNV Urban transport: 'Due to the successful strike in the morning rush hour on 3 July, HTM repented and after months of downtime there was suddenly a willingness to listen to the people. They now receive a decent salary increase and we have also made agreements with which we can continue in the future. More people are taking up permanent employment, so everyone has the same rights. And we look at how we can shorten the working week in the long term and how early retirement can be introduced. This allows HTM people to retire healthy. '

Temporary workers employed by HTM

In addition, it has been agreed in the collective labor agreement that all temporary workers will be employed by HTM, starting with all new employees on the bus and tram line. Everyone will also receive 1 extra day off and the exemption for night shifts will be reduced in two steps to 59 years for the other roster staff.

The generation pact also allows older people to work shorter hours while retaining a full pension accrual, so that they can continue working until retirement. Instead, young people are permanently employed.

In addition, there will be an investigation into the possibility of shortening working hours in the future while retaining the current salary level and an early retirement scheme will be introduced as soon as possible, based on the recently agreed pension agreement.

The collective labor agreement for HTM applies to 2000 employees and will run for two years, with retroactive effect from January 2019. The union members of FNV will vote on the collective labor agreement on 17 May, after which the collective labor agreement will only become final.
