Eindhoven Airport, the municipality of Eindhoven, the peripheral municipalities and the province of North Brabant have today sent their joint response to the Eindhoven Airport pilot case advice to the Minister of Infrastructure and Water Management and the State Secretary for Defense.

These parties, represented in the Eindhoven Airport Steering Group after 2019, unanimously support the advice of independent explorer Van Geel on the development direction of Eindhoven airport until 2030.

Eindhoven Airport, the municipality of Eindhoven, the peripheral municipalities and the province of North Brabant greatly appreciate and respect former Secretary of State Pieter van Geel and the process that has been conducted. The region is committed to continuing to play an active role in the follow-up process. She wants to retain the positive energy that has been released with the trial case in order to strengthen and expand the pride in the region for the airport.

The members of the Steering Group unanimously support the control method proposed by Van Geel on noise standards instead of aircraft movements and the stated ambition of 30% noise reduction in 2030. As a region, they want to achieve a concrete implementation of a transparent process jointly with the Minister and State Secretary. the advice and a development path for the period 2022-2030. For the short term (the years 2020 and 2021), there is unanimity that a 'stepping stone' is desirable.

According to the parties, the widely supported advice offers opportunities to give Eindhoven Airport a quality boost that strengthens the airport's ties with the immediate surroundings and the region.

There is broad confidence that the proposed permanent consultation structure can ensure continued involvement and growing confidence among local residents and all parties involved. To reinforce this, a quartermaster is being sought in the short term to set up this permanent consultation structure.

The parties feel it is their responsibility to work together with all other stakeholders to make the connection between Eindhoven Airport and the region to strengthen and expand the pride for our airport.
