Ryanair, the largest budget airline in Europe, will cut the number of flights and destinations next winter and next summer. The Irish price fighter is also considering closing a number of underperforming establishments from November, according to the FD editorial.

Ryanair announced on Tuesday that the expected growth will be halved next year because the delivery of new Boeing aircraft will be considerably delayed.

The measures are a result of the problems at Boeing, which have significantly cut production of the new 737 Max aircraft. These aircraft have been grounded since March this year, after two disastrous accidents in a few months with a total of 346 deaths.

Ryanair expects Boeing to be able to supply new 737 Max aircraft between January and February. The US aircraft manufacturer needs more time to resolve the software issue and other security issues. At the same time, for the new devices, separate certification must be obtained from both European and American regulators. This can cause extra delay.
