FNV and its members are preparing a new work interruption for KLM ground staff for next week. Friday night, FNV and other unions unsuccessfully left the collective labor agreement with the airline.

KLM continues to stubbornly refuse to come to a good collective labor agreement for ground staff. They leave their own employees out in the cold, 'says FNV director Jan van den Brink.

Among other things, FNV wants KLM ground workers to receive four percent more wages per year, less heavy rosters and a better ratio between temporary workers and permanent employees. "The ground crew does important work. If they can't do their job, no plane will take to the skies. That work therefore deserves a good collective labor agreement, 'says Van den Brink.

Work interruption next week will last four hours.

The work interruption next week will last four hours and will be announced at least 48 hours in advance. It is not yet known when this will be. Negotiations have taken more than four months so far. Hundreds of FNV members halted work for two hours last week, leading to dozens of flights dropping out. In total, 15.000 people are covered by the Collective Labor Agreement for Ground Personnel.

There is a strike due to a labor dispute over a new collective labor agreement for the 15.000 KLM employees of baggage handling, towing and refueling services, maintenance services and for the employees on the platforms.

The union demands, among other things, a substantial salary increase, a less flexible work schedule and more permanent employees. Negotiations on this took place on Friday night, but according to the FNV this has come to nothing.
