With 380 buses or coaches and 510 exhibitors, the largest Busworld opened to date on Brussels Expo. “The transfer from Kortrijk to Brussels is an added value for the appearance of the 25e edition of Busworld in Belgium ”, confirm Busworld manager Mieke Glorieux and Busworld Europe chairman Redgy Deschacht.

The exhibition is about 30% larger than in Kortrijk, spread over nine halls. On the open spaces between the halls and on the avenue between the Atomium and Brussels Expo, 75 bus builders will display 380 buses and coaches. “Among the 510 exhibitors - compared to 380 in Kortrijk in 2017 - there are 150 new suppliers. This means that the waiting list of the past has practically disappeared and almost every candidate has been given a place. Various bus builders also received the additional space that had been requested for years. In constructive consultation with them, we were able to nicely fill in central halls 4, 5 and 6 ”, says Mieke Glorieux. "Most of the exhibitors are from Turkey (96), Germany is second with 78 and China is third with 54 exhibitors."

According to Redgy Deschacht, the collaboration with Brussels Expo went very well. “We have been very well received and guided by them. Trusted Kortrijk Xpo employees have come to Brussels because they have known the ins and outs of Busworld for years. We therefore endeavor to transfer the same atmosphere and spirit from Kortrijk to Brussels Expo ”.

"With 89.000 m2 of expo space, Busworld Europe will be one of the largest trade fairs in area for Brussels Expo," adds Mieke Glorieux. “I think that we are now at the maximum and realistic feasible concept. You can go even wider, but you should also avoid visitors being confronted with empty spaces because some exhibitors sometimes dare to drop out. Now everything is nicely filled ”.

“We had to abandon the original plan to turn Hall 2 into an exhibition space for innovations in order to give everyone a place,” Redgy Deschacht regrets. “We want to develop that idea further in the future. First let us see what the 25e edition and the first edition in Brussels. I have already heard from various bus builders and exhibitors that they expect more visitors. Wait and see if we exceed the 37.000 visitors of 2017 ”.
