With a night-time action, the police, the ILT and the UWV have for the first time investigated the regional taxi sector in Twente and heavy fines were handed out. For the Twente police, the screening of the taxi sector is part of the approach to so-called 'undermining' crime, or crime in which the underworld affects the upper world.

Last weekend's action counts as a zero measurement for the police. This gives the spokesman to seek information about the industry and how companies register their journeys.

“It is also not that we think that taxi companies are all wrong, but it is a sector that we pay attention to,” said Henk Kremer, spokesman for the police at the Tubantia reporter.

Why it's the police serious it soon becomes clear: the fine for a non-working BCT is 1800 euros, and a driving ban can also be imposed. And no driving means no income. It is an economic offense because without registration you can unfairly compete against companies that have their accounts in order.
