The disgruntled socialist union ACOD wants to extend the strike at the public transport company De Lijn in Flemish Brabant to all of Flanders. The union calls for a national strike on Wednesday, November 13. ACOD-TBM reports this in Flemish Brabant.

The conflict between the unions and the management of De Lijn in Flemish Brabant escalates. The unions canceled the consultation on Friday afternoon.

"Because we felt that we could no longer achieve further results. Sitting together uselessly only results in a loss of time ”, says Marcel Conters, regional secretary of ACOD-TBM Vlaams-Brabant.

The management had left the meeting room on Thursday evening and issued an ultimatum. The unions were given until 19 pm on Friday evening to approve her proposal.

Apparently we speak a different language. The management has a completely different view of the displeasure of the staff. The minute proposals that were made to solve the problematic situations within De Lijn have not found a response with us and our supporters, ”says Conters. "The management receives an unsatisfactory score from us across the board."

The communiqué from the management on Thursday evening that there was an agreement and everyone would go back to work has caused bad blood for the unions. “We will continue our promotions and allow everyone the choice to stay at home on Saturday, Sunday and the holiday of Monday 11 November. The strike compensation will remain in effect, ”says Conters.

According to ACOD, other De Lijn entities jump on the cart of Flemish Brabant.

After all, they face the same problems. We decided to shut down the whole of Flanders on Wednesday 13 November with a strike against the management of De Lijn due to the poor personnel policy and the lack of appreciation for the personnel. ”
