Uber reported shocking figures on sexual harassment on Thursday. During or after car journeys with Uber, the taxi company received 2017 reports of sexual harassment in the United States alone in 2018 and 5981, ranging from touch to rape. Nineteen people died from physical violence, including eight passengers and seven drivers. Traffic accidents involving Uber involved 97 deaths.

The listed taxi company has taken several measures in recent years to improve the situation. For example, there is recently a button in the app to call 112. Passengers are expressly informed whether the specified number plate and the accompanying driver are driving. Three hundred people are now working at Uber on measures and aids to increase the safety of passengers and drivers.

Uber is allowed to appeal again after Transport for London (TfL), the London transport authority, did not issue a new permit to Uber. Because the current permit expired on Sunday, this means that the taxi service is no longer allowed to drive in the British capital. As long as that appeal continues, which can take months, the company's cars can continue to drive in London.

Uber has reorganized the company and now consists of five divisions: taxi rides, food delivery, freight, other (bicycles, scooters, public transport software) and the advanced technology group. The latter concerns research into self-driving cars and flying cars, projects in which Uber invests billions of research money together with several partners.
