The ANWB arranges the software, training and recognisability free of charge. A good start, but often not enough to actually start. All existing projects are then a process of endless search for volunteers. The project was once conceived by the ANWB.

"According to the organization, it is not a competition for traditional taxi companies because it is more about the fun and well-being of the passengers."

ANWB AutoMaatje brings drivers and passengers into contact with each other. The volunteer driver receives an allowance of 30 cents per kilometer and any parking costs per trip. The passenger pays this directly to the driver. The system seems 'the solution' but in most places is an endless process to find volunteers. You do not have to be a member of the ANWB to start as a volunteer.

addition to existing systems

Many senior organizations have noticed for some time that there is a need for an accessible transport network in addition to, among other things, the local bus, shared taxi and Valys. ANWB launched the project Vending machine early 2015 in Barneveld and Woerden. There it turned out to be so successful that AutoMaatje went nationwide.

social taxi drivers

ANWB AutoMaatje, a transport service with which volunteers transport less-mobile neighbors with their own car. The people behind the AutoMaatje projects have their hands full to keep looking for social taxi drivers to man the services. The system is much cheaper than a taxi.
