It remains silent in the air, airline Transavia cancels all flights up to and including 6 May due to the spread of the corona virus, the airline reports Monday. Unless it concerns flights ordered by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to pick up stranded travelers (repatriation flights). It was previously announced that there would be no flying from Monday March 23 to April 15, this period has been extended to May 6. The increasing restrictions and measures from the Netherlands and other countries imposed more and more restrictions on Transavia and that is why the airline Transavia is canceling all flights.

A Transavia spokesperson explains that the company wants to offer its customers security, also in view of the restrictions, restrictions and measures imposed by the Dutch government and authorities in other countries. Transavia had already suspended flights until April 15.

Transavia gives passengers extra time in this uncertain corona period, passengers can rebook their tickets with departure date up to and including 31 May, free of charge, at a later time and possibly to a different destination. The airline will review weekly whether an extension of this period is necessary. Passengers will be informed of this via email and website and will receive a voucher equal to the value of their trip if flights are canceled.

Restarting flights to destinations depends on developments around the corona virus. Due to the exceptional circumstances, Transavia had previously decided to postpone flying from Brussels to March 2021. Transavia, part of Air France-KLM, is the second largest airline in the Netherlands in terms of size. Normally Transavia carries over 15 million passengers annually
