Extraordinary times call for extraordinary measures. In the fight against the corona virus, the Mayor and Aldermen therefore decided to take the Grape festivals this year not to continue. The municipality of Overijse removes the Druivenfeesten from the calendar due to the coronaviris.

The National Security Council previously banned major events and festivals until September 1. It still had to define what could still go on, but Overijse is not waiting for that. It is therefore certain that it will be an extraordinary summer. But they are not going to stick around. Practically it was not feasible and people do not want to opt for light version. The municipality of Overijse made this decision last night with a heavy heart.

"Bringing so many people together in August would be irresponsible," the city council said in a press release.

And while they are already looking forward to this extraordinary summer, they are happy to count down to 70 togethere edition of the Grape Festivities. This will take place from Friday, August 20 to Wednesday, August 25, 2021. With more than 20.000 visitors annually over several days, the Grape Festivals bring together many people from within and outside the municipality.
