Efteling aims to open its doors to the public again on Wednesday 20 May 2020. A step-by-step approach to this reopening has been determined in close consultation with the Safety Region. With a number of test days in which the group of visitors expands per step, employees can get used to the new working methods that are continuously evaluated and improved. In preparation for Wednesday, we are working hard in Kaatsheuvel on all kinds of measures that are necessary to receive the first guests safely.

Efteling naturally makes every effort to ensure that the visit to the World of Miracles is carried out in a safe manner. They follow the Dutch guidelines of the RIVM in the park and at the accommodation units. In addition, De Efteling implements measures from the industry protocol of De Club van Elf and the Dutch Association of Zoos bundled in Safe Out Together.

A visit to Efteling will be different than it was before. Pardoes, Pepijn and Efteling employee Natascha show in this video what it takes to guarantee your safety and health and that of our employees. This way they ensure a safe day out together.

Efteling adheres to the guidelines of RIVM and asks visitors to comply with them. So do not come to the park if you or someone in your household suffers from a cold, runny nose, sneezing, sore throat, mild cough and / or increase (up to 38ºC). The Dutch measures apply to visitors from abroad during their visit to the theme park or the overnight accommodations.

After the ticket check, guests are immediately sent in different directions to ensure a good spread. Fences have been placed to clarify the routes. Cars are distributed around the car park at the direction of employees. As a guest you will be assigned a place in front of the entrance building, so that you do not have to stand together with too many people. The 1,5m distance is also indicated by signs and announcements.

General director Fons Jurgens explains: “In the World of Efteling, we have always made sure that our guests can enjoy safely. That is no different now. What is different is exactly what that safety entails. We know better than anyone how guests move in our park and how we can spread groups. More than ever, we now use the knowledge that we have gained about this in the past. Fortunately, we have plenty of space, because our park is more than 68 football fields. We also allow a limited number of guests to pre-book their visit. This way we can guarantee that everyone has the space for their day out. ”
