The day before yesterday, KNV, FNV and CNV extended the student transport protocol with regulations for the transport of older children to secondary special education. It was then added that a number of questions regarding this transport were still open to RIVM. That 'battle for the arm' is now gone, because the answers from RIVM are available. The conclusion is that the protocol as it was published complies with the RIVM frameworks.

In an accompanying text when the comprehensive protocol for student transport was published KNV expresses that a number of questions remain unanswered and that the use of the protocol for VSO transport should therefore be seen as an entrepreneurial risk. This 'disclaimer' has caused doubts about the status of the protocol among transporters, but especially among a number of clients.

After examining the RIVM recommendations, which have become known today, it appears that a reservation is no longer necessary. The student transport protocol fits within the hygiene guidelines that RIVM has drawn up for special transport of young people in middle school age.

The recommendations of the RIVM are about applying hand hygiene, having the ventilation switched on during transport, cleaning surfaces that are frequently touched after use and at least 1,5 meters between persons remains the starting point. In the protocol of KNV, FNV, CNV, RIVM advice has been carefully interpreted by applying a health check (so-called triage by parents / caregiver if possible and in any case by drivers prior to the journey), by transport do as much as possible with the same children and let the young people of the middle school age wear a mask (where the 1,5 meter cannot be observed). For drivers, when carrying student transport with older students, they wear a protective (surgical) mask.

KNV, FNV and CNV are still working on a protocol for transport to and from daycare, WMO and Valys. This in close coordination with VWS and of course within the framework of what RIVM advises. The intention is that this 'health care transport protocol' will be published this week. After all, much of the daycare and demand-dependent healthcare transport will be started up or scaled up slowly at the beginning of June.
