From today, the RET, the municipality of Rotterdam, Rotterdam Ahoy and the partial transport operators Check, Donkey Republic, felyx and GO Sharing are working together to keep Rotterdam accessible. Public transport travelers in Rotterdam are actively informed by RET and Ahoy about the use of partial transport: bicycles, e-bikes and electric scooters.

The partial transport operators adjust the offer to busy points in public transport. This contributes to the fact that the RET's public transport can remain within the maximum occupancy of 40% and that travelers also have other travel options. Maurice Unck, director of RET: “I am proud that today we are joining forces to find smart solutions. We travel safelymen. ”

Unique: four partial transporters together with RET

Check, Donkey Republic, felyx and GO Sharing are now well-known names in Rotterdam. Together they are responsible for the shared bicycles / e-bikes and electric scooters that can be used in the city. They entered into a unique collaboration with each other and with the RET, Ahoy and the municipality of Rotterdam: at busy points in public transport, the municipality has made room for additional supply of partial transport.

The four sub-carriers provide sufficient supply of their bicycles and e-bikes (Donkey Republic) and electric scooters (Check, felyx and GO Sharing). The RET actively advises travelers: use other partial transport to continue your journey. The RET does this via pictograms on the larger metro stations, digital screens, social media and www.ret.nl/eachable. Rotterdam Ahoy also actively communicates about ParknBike: for four euros you can park your car for a day and you have access to a shared bicycle / e-bike or electric scooter to continue your journey.

Smart combinations of means of transport

Maurice Unck: “Since June 1, we drive with a maximum occupancy of 40%. By alerting travelers to the presence of additional forms of transport, such as shared bicycles and electric scooters, we help them on their way. In this way, we are also fulfilling our ambition as a transporter to facilitate smart combinations of means of transport. We already worked on this for corona: helping travelers to reach their destination in a sustainable way with the best combination. "

Use of electric scooters, shared bicycles and e-bikes

Public transport travelers who want to switch to electric scooters, shared bicycles or e-bikes can check availability via the RET Real Time App. Does the traveler decide to use an electric scooter or shared bicycle / e-bike? Then the further use goes through the app of the provider that the traveler chooses.

Partial transport and national measures

Check, Donkey Republic, felyx and GO Sharing observe the national measures. Special attention is paid to cleaning, and travelers are actively informed about hygiene measures and keeping their distance. Since it is possible to keep a distance, it is not necessary to wear a mouth mask on a scooter or bicycle, as has been mandatory on public transport since 1 June.
