It is not possible to keep 1,5 meters apart in an airplane. Transavia emphasizes that hygiene measures have been taken on the ground and on board to make flying as safe as possible. Special HEPA filters are placed in the devices, which make the air free from pathogens. Staff and travelers from 13 years of age are obliged to wear face masks during the flight. Transavia's goal is to return 175 flights per week by the end of June.

The 1,5 meter measure does not apply to aircraft, said Transavia spokeswoman Claudia Metz. "It just doesn't work," she says. Therefore, no seats are kept free by Transavia, to create space. "We have taken extra hygiene and safety measures." For example, travelers and crew must wear face masks that also cover the nose, there is disinfectant gel for the passengers and aircraft are cleaned extra often.
