Level Europe formerly Anisec luftfarht is an Austrian airline owned by parent company Vueling Airlines and a subsidiary of IAG (International Airlines Group). They started flying in 2018 and own 6 aircraft. The airline started in Vienna, Austria, after Air Berlin subsidiary Niki went bankrupt. They have waged a price war with other low cost airlines in Vienna for the past 2 years. This resulted in cheap airline tickets and an increase in the number of passengers. Level Europe provides short distance flights within Europe from Amsterdam Airport Schiphol and Vienna International Airport.

“Customers who book their flights through channels other than LEVEL Europe-website are requested to contact the relevant partner directly to inquire about the status of their flight. Passengers who have booked through the LEVEL Europe website are requested to contact the bankruptcy trustee appointed by the court, ”the airline says in bankruptcy.

This Austrian airline has filed for bankruptcy today. This airline has suffered greatly from COVID-19 and is yet another victim of the corona crisis. All flights have been grounded since March 2020 and Austrian operations have ceased with immediate effect. They did occasionally carry out repatriation flights for stranded Austrians to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. About 240 people work at Level Europe, of which 40 in Amsterdam. It is not known how many customers have been affected, because the airline tickets are not covered in bankruptcy. Ideally, affected customers will receive a small portion of the ticket price (quota) back after the bankruptcy procedure is completed.

“We hoped Level Europe would survive the storm, but the reality of the situation is too devastating to resist,” CEO Frank Glander wrote to his colleagues.
