According to the union FNV, the corona crisis can cause things to go wrong with the wages and accrued hours of school drivers. In August, the hours difference of the JUR (annual hours scheme) must be settled. Sometimes you work more and sometimes you work less. The hours worked more should be paid in August and fewer hours worked are for the account of your employer. For example, it has been laid down in the taxi collective labor agreement.

Corona hours for the account of the employer

Due to the corona crisis, it may seem that you have worked fewer hours over the year. Although that may also be the case, you should not notice it. The employer may therefore not set off standstill hours against periods if you have worked more hours. Does the employer want you to make up those hours? In that case, it is necessary to look at reasonableness and fairness.

Pay out or save

You may have worked longer hours. For example, because your standard is actually too low. In this case you are entitled to continued payment of your usual wages and it must not be at the expense of your previously accrued hours, time for time or JUR hours, your wages must be paid based on what you normally received for corona.

Check your pay slip

So check your payslip to see whether this wage is the same as before the corona crisis. Is your gross pay the same in February through June? Or do you get paid less? Also pay attention to your hours of building up the JUR. If you had already built up more hours in January, check whether there are still more hours built up in June. You can according to it FNV do not assume that your employer, no matter how nice it may be, pays everything neatly.

No handing in hours

Employers respond to the sentiment and ask you to hand in your hours, days off and wages. Some employers don't even ask that, but just do it with an excuse that it should be. But now that you know better, you and your colleagues and the FNV can ensure that your employer is doing as it should.

Reasonableness and fairness

It is quite reasonable that the employer asks you to perform other activities during this time. After all, everything is turned upside down and a lot of work has been lost and many drivers are dropping out. So rowing with the oars you have for employers. But sometimes a requirement from the employer can be very unreasonable. Whether this is fair and reasonably varies from case to case. This will therefore also have to be examined on a case by case basis. If you are unable to reach an agreement with your employer, please contact your union.
