Click & Boat confirms the acquisition of the Spanish company Nautal, No. 2 in the European market. With the acquisition of Nautal, Click & Boat is the largest online boat rental platform in the world. Earlier in the past 12 months, the company already acquired two other companies. In the meantime, the fleet has grown from 35.000 to more than 45.000 boats and the company is the market leader in more than 12 countries: from the Netherlands to Spain and from France to Germany. That while the company was founded only six years ago. 

Less than a year after the takeover of Océans Evasion and Scansail, the company takes another step. Click & Boat thus becomes the largest boat rental platform in the world and at the same time opens a fifth office in Barcelona. The originally French start-up now has more than 150 employees and has more than 5 million users worldwide. 

Nautal has more than 31.000 boats in 67 countries. This will expand the Click & Boat offer with more than 10.000 boats, of which more than 700 boats in the Netherlands. Both in the water sports areas of Friesland, Zeeland and the IJsselmeer as well as in popular holiday destinations such as Croatia, the Balearic Islands and Greece. 

The sharing economy is becoming increasingly known, focused on local experiences. Click & Boat rides on the success of the platform economy. Dutch holidaymakers are increasingly booking their holiday via online sharing platforms such as AirBnB. Other well-known names are Google (information), BlaBlaCar (car pooling) and Uber (taxi services). Platforms such as Click & Boat and Nautal do not have boats, but bring together boat owners and water sports enthusiasts. The revenue model focuses on a market platform where owners can rent their boats to sailors, with the platforms receiving a commission for each booking.

Click & Boat is an online platform for boat rental between private and professional boat owners and water sports enthusiasts. The company was founded in 2013 by two young French entrepreneurs: Edouard Gorioux and Jérémy Bismuth and is located in Boulogne-Billancourt, near Paris. The company has also been active in the Netherlands since 2018.

The start arose from a simple observation: thousands of boats lie unused in the harbor and cause high maintenance costs for their owners. Various types of boats can be rented and rented very easily, both with and without a skipper. The corona crisis has boosted the water sports industry locally. Click & Boat saw the rental of boats in the Netherlands triple.
