We are in the middle of the summer holiday period and many people are off for a few days or on vacation. Many people simply stay in the Netherlands this year due to the corona crisis. It will not be due to the weather, we have a heat wave in the Netherlands in the coming days. This heat may persist for a while and will reach temperatures of 30 degrees and higher. That will be a lot of puffing and sweating together. One finds these temperatures great and for the other it can be a bit less warm. One thing is certain for the weather, we do not have to go on holiday to Spain in the coming days.

During these days people often flock to the beaches and many waters in our country to cool off. So it will probably be crowded in these places and connected in a traffic jam. That is undesirable and not the intention in these times of corona. We have to adhere to the XNUMX meter rule to prevent the spread of the corona virus.

The municipality of The Hague placed one earlier this week message on their website about how to celebrate a beautiful beach day in the municipality of The Hague and how to travel smartly here and which guidelines you must adhere to. With this urgent travel advice and a number of specific measures, The Hague wants to ensure that anyone who wants to can enjoy pleasant days along the 11-kilometer-long sandy beach. Their urgent advice is therefore not to come to the coast by car, but to park on arrival in The Hague and from there take the bus, tram, bicycle or scooter to the beach. Additional enforcers and traffic controllers are also deployed to ensure that everything runs smoothly.

'Once on our 11 kilometers long and on average 100 meters wide beaches, people basically have the space to stick to the 1,5 meters distance. The challenge is mainly in reaching the beach. That starts with smart travel and that is why we urgently appeal to the responsibility of tourists and day trippers: in addition to sunscreen, also bring common sense! In addition, there are beautiful parks directly adjacent to the coast and visitors can also consider traveling to The Hague later, because the sun does not set until around half past nine, 'says Deputy Mayor Hilbert Bredemeijer.
