In the run-up to the new school and academic year, the municipality of The Hague is starting a campaign this week to warn pupils and (prospective) students about the risks of corona, to urge them to comply with the measures and to have themselves tested at complaints. The municipality does this in places where young people can be found: online, but also via the digital advertising pillars in the most visited places in the city.

'I hope that all young people can fully enjoy the start of the new school and academic year, although this time it is a bit different than usual, because it has to be safe and responsible. Fortunately, much more is possible, but the corona virus has not yet disappeared. That means that we must all continue to comply with the measures, young and old. So, do you have any complaints? Take responsibility and get tested. It's fast, free and easy, 'says education alderman Hilbert Bredemeijer.

A corona test is free, your grandmother priceless

For the next three weeks, the youth campaign can be seen in various forms, online and in the city. Via posters in the digital advertising columns and a video that is distributed via social media channels. In it, young people call on their peers to adhere to the measures and to have themselves tested. One poster reads 'A corona test is free, your grandmother priceless' and another 'You also test with an STD, why not with corona?' Both the posters and the video were made possible thanks to the ideas and wishes of young people, educational institutions and study and student associations.
