Last night, a 160-meter-long bicycle bridge over the A2 and N2 was placed near Eindhoven. The exit on the N2 towards Eindhoven Airport was closed all Saturday. The relocation of the bridge itself started at 22.00 p.m. last night and was supposed to take until 08.00 a.m. this morning, but work progressed faster than expected. As you would expect from Eindhoven as a city of light, something was also done with light. The bicycle bridge changes color when traffic passes.

From the end of October, cyclists can use the new crossing over the N2 and A2 in Eindhoven and avoid the busy intersection at the exit on Anthony Fokkerweg. The bridge has been given the name Tegenbosch, after the name of a farm that once stood in the area and a district of Eindhoven. To make room for widening the A2 / N2 intersection (Anthony Fokkerweg) in Eindhoven, the municipality of IPV Delft asked for a new bicycle bridge to cross the A2. to design. A route and variant study preceded the design.

Initially, the bicycle bridge was to be constructed by the Brainport Park cooperative. This is a collaboration of all owners and users in the area. Because the bicycle bridge is now linked to the work at Anthony Fokkerweg, the municipality of Eindhoven took on the job itself. The installation of the new bicycle bridge is part of the road works in Eindhoven Northwest. With these activities, the municipality of Eindhoven wants to improve the traffic flow and accessibility of the area.
