Despite the government recently announced a 3rd package of support measures, the sector has yet to see whether healthcare transport and taxi companies will make it. That is the conclusion of the KNV sector association in a letter from the chairman KNV Care transport and taxi Bertho Eckhardt to the trade unions FNV and CNV expresses the concerns of the sector members. In order not to further endanger the continuity of the companies and employment, the KNV proposes to extend the current Cao Taxi Transport and the Cao SFM unchanged by one year.

The situation in the industry was already difficult before the corona crisis. Consider the effects of the abolition of the BPM refund scheme and the new WAB as of 2020. Student transport may have started again after the summer holidays, but the transport volume is around 90-95%. About 80% of the normal volume is used for patient transport.

The worst blows fall in business transport

The situation is worse in the transport numbers in Wmo transport. There, the sector sees reluctance on the part of the user, as a result of which the average transport volume is now approximately 60% of normal. With Valys transport, the transport volume is approximately 60% of normal. The hardest blows are in business transport. In airport transport and the consumer market, transport volumes are still extremely low (about 25%).

In the case of transport to and from care institutions, users and their supervisors and / or carers are still reluctant and institutions themselves have to deal with the 1,5 meter measure, which means that fewer people are transported. It is estimated that the transport is about 60% of the normal volume. In short, the taxi sector is in dire straits, with the livelihood of companies and therefore employment in the sector under pressure.
