Anyone who thought they would go on holiday to Belgium will be disappointed. Since yesterday, the travel advice has been adjusted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for the whole of Belgium from code yellow to code orange. The advice has been adjusted because Belgium has imposed stricter rules for visitors from the Netherlands because the number of corona infections in our country is increasing. The Belgian government therefore strongly discourages travel (including tourism) to Belgium from the provinces of South Holland, North Holland and Utrecht (the red zones).

Travelers from these three provinces who nevertheless travel to Belgium for a necessary trip must have themselves tested in one of the Belgian collection centers when staying longer than 48 hours. And they must also be self-quarantined with friends, family or in a hotel for 14 days or for the duration of the stay. Quarantine may be interrupted for the necessary purpose of the trip (for example, a business meeting or funeral). Quarantine and testing are no longer required for necessary journeys of less than 48 hours. Travelers from other provinces in the Netherlands are advised to go into self-quarantine for 14 days or for the duration of their stay and to have themselves tested there.

The color of the entire Dutch goes through the above rules travel advice for Belgium from 'yellow' (watch out for safety risks) to 'orange' (only necessary trips). The number of infections is still high in the Brussels-Capital Region, the city of Antwerp, the province of Liège and the province of Walloon Brabant. After a stay in these areas, you will go into home quarantine for 10 days when you return to the Netherlands. Are you from another area in Belgium? Then you do not have to go into quarantine when you return to the Netherlands. Previously, there was only an orange travel advice for parts of Antwerp and Brussels and the surrounding area.
