This week, the renovated Hollands Spoor train station opened in the municipality of The Hague. The Hague Hollands Spoor station is finally ready after years of renovation. The Municipality of The Hague, NS and ProRail have together improved the station. The city and private parties have been working on the renewal of the area around Hollands Spoor station since 2013. In 2017, the municipality of The Hague started the construction of a new entrance.

Aldermen Anne Mulder and Robert van Asten of the Municipality of The Hague, together with Helga Cuijpers (Regional Director Randstad South of ProRail) and Magdalena Piotrowska (Regional Director South of NS) the new entrance to the station opened. The monumental building could no longer cope with the many travelers. In 2019, approximately 40.000 travelers a day used this station every day.

There are all kinds of new shops in the station and on the forecourt. This is very nice for travelers who have to wait for their connection. The station also has a new bicycle shed that can accommodate up to 2500 bicycles. This is not an unnecessary luxury, because bicycle parking spaces have been too short for a long time. And if you want to eat something, this is possible at the Febo and Domino's.

In the near future, the Broodzaak, Doner Company, Travelex, Wok to go and CLRS Hairstudio will also open their doors at this location. In the coming months, work will also be carried out on a new lift to platform 1, so that all platforms are also accessible for the disabled. This ensures that this station is increasingly accessible for people with a disability.
