As of today 3 November, the travel advice will be adjusted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for Portugal and Germany. Little remains on the map of Europe that is still 'yellow' and accessible for leisure travel. The number of coronavirus infections is high in Germany. From 3 November 2020, the color code orange will therefore apply to all of Germany. Travel to Germany is only allowed if necessary. When you return to the Netherlands, you must be in home quarantine for 10 days. Furthermore, new restrictive corona measures apply in Germany from 2 to at least 30 November.

Catering establishments, theater and concert halls and cinemas are closed. Tourist overnight stays are no longer allowed. What this means for border traffic between Germany and the Netherlands is not yet known. We are also awaiting the press conference tonight, there are rumors that the rules in our country are becoming even stricter. The number of coronavirus infections has also increased throughout Portugal, except in the Azores. The color code of the entire country and also the island of Madeira will therefore be changed from 'yellow' to 'orange' on November 3, 2020. Travel is only allowed if necessary.

The Azores color code remains yellow. From November 3, traveling to Portugal is only allowed if necessary and after a stay in Portugal and on the island of Madeira, you must be in home quarantine for 10 days when you return to the Netherlands. You don't need to go into home quarantine if you've been to the Azores. So from today you can only travel to Curaçao, Sweden, Greece and the Canary Islands, because code yellow still applies here. The question is of course, for how long will this remain 'yellow'? There are rumors that our cabinet will issue a negative travel advice before the Christmas holidays. The rest of Europe is therefore code orange and not accessible for holiday travel and when you return home you have to go into home quarantine.
