Joe Biden has won the 2020 US presidential election. Kamala Harris is the first woman to be elected Vice President of the United States. In the course of Saturday morning in America, it became clear that Biden's lead in the last states where votes are still being counted is sufficient to secure his victory. Kamala Harris announced the new president of the United States who, wearing a face mask, took to the stage in Delaware. As the running mate of new president Joe Biden, Harris is the first black woman and woman of Indian descent to enter the White House.

Kamala Devi Harris, 56, was the first black woman attorney in San Francisco, chief prosecutor in California, and a state senator. EU congratulates Joe Biden

More than 10 hours after Biden's victory, Donald Trump's Twitter account was still quiet. Disrespectful to the process, he was on the golf course and the 'traditional' phone call to the brand new winner, which is usual in the event of a loss, was not forthcoming. The EU, on the other hand, congratulated new US President Joe Biden and incoming Vice-President Kamala Harris on getting enough electoral votes. The President of the European Parliament David Sassoli also congratulated Biden. European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen looks forward to meeting as soon as possible.
