The new Autobedrijven Relationship Survey (ROSA) of BOVAG Independent Autobedrijven shows that entrepreneurs are generally very satisfied with the garage formula they are affiliated with. The average rating is expressed as a report mark of 7,8, which is one tenth point higher than in 2018. Half of the formulas score at least an 8 and no formula is assessed as unsatisfactory. BOVAG reports this on their website.

Just like two years ago, almost all garage formulas showed their willingness to distribute the ROSA 2020 questionnaires to all their members. As a result, BOVAG was also able to make an inventory of the assessments of car companies that are not affiliated with the trade association. ROSA 2020 provides a completely representative picture of the formula landscape, all the more because with 807 respondents (one third of the companies contacted) there was a higher response in absolute numbers than ever before. All garage formulas score between 'more than satisfactory' and 'very good', while no formula was awarded an unsatisfactory mark. CarProf leads the list with an 8,6, followed by five formulas with an 8,4: AutoFirst, Autovakmeester, Carteam, Requal Erkend Reparateur and Vakgarage.

INDEPENDENCE

Of the 40 subjects about which car companies were able to express their appreciation by means of statements, 38 score on average a pass (6) or higher. Formula participants, as two years ago, are generally most satisfied with the maintenance of independent entrepreneurship (8,3), the obligations and requirements of the garage formula with regard to their building, appearance and corporate identity (8,0) and the related appreciation for the appearance of the formula decoration of the building (7,9). As in 2018, the appreciation for obligations and requirements with regard to courses scores 7,9.

 BUSINESS MARKET

The formula participants are least satisfied with all topics related to lease and the business market (scores between 5,7 and 6,0). Many formulas are not active in this area at all and the low figures may therefore also relate to that fact. The greatest progress was made in the area of brand awareness of a formula, with + 0,3 compared to 2018. The largest decreases show satisfaction with the mobility guarantee and the accuracy of ordering systems (both minus 0,3). The consultation with fellow participants in formulas was also valued lower than two years ago (minus 0,2). In the current times of generally less physical contact, it will remain a challenge to make collective progress in this regard. Engineering support is seen by 91 percent of respondents as the top reason to join a formula, followed by marketing support at 89 percent.

BETTER RELATIONSHIP

Gerard ten Buuren, chairman of BOVAG Independent Autobedrijven: “All in all, ROSA 2020 provides results where both BOVAG if the garage formulas may be satisfied with it. What I am also very satisfied with is that in recent years we have built up an increasingly better relationship and cooperation with almost all formulas. This enables us to directly address and resolve bottlenecks of our own members, but also to provide assistance, for example, with the implementation of the franchise law and the rapid sharing of correct information about corona measures. Vice versa, the good relationship ensures that the formulas quickly find a listening ear at BOVAG, after which, for example, a lobbying process can be started. We will of course discuss the positive and negative points from ROSA 2020 in detail with all those involved, so that we can report even higher figures in a subsequent survey. ”
