Why not do an internship at the Zeeland Sustainable Mobility Foundation? Not a bad idea in itself. The aim of the foundation is to start projects that stimulate sustainable mobility in Zeeland. They are looking for an enthusiastic intern who wants to join them from February 2021 by expanding the shared car network in Zeeland.

The foundation was established because there are no commercial parties active in Zeeland yet that place large numbers of electric shared cars, for example. Compared to densely populated areas, Zeeland as a region is not yet interesting enough for these parties.

Annemieke Ebbers lives with her family in Zierikzee and was the first to use the electric shared car there. Sustainable driving is important to the Ebbers family. Or rather: rather drive as little as possible.

“I could recommend it to everyone. It is a very good alternative to the 2nd car. And if you have guts, it can even replace your 1st car. We have hardly ever owned a car and have always used sharing platforms to rent a car. Before this we lived near Rotterdam, where shared cars are a very normal phenomenon and there is also a wide range. When we moved to Zierikzee, the supply of shared cars was very disappointing. We were therefore very happy with the electric shared car from SD Op Weg. ”

DELTA and Zeeland Sustainable Mobility Foundation (SDMZ) have recently started working together to stimulate the use of shared cars in Zeeland. For those who occasionally want to use a car and do not have or want to purchase their own car, the use of an electric shared car can be a solution. Several electric shared cars are already in use in Zeeland and a multitude of projects are under development.
