Air traffic with passengers from the United Kingdom has been banned since Sunday 20 December at 06.00 a.m. The cabinet has imposed the ban until January 1, 2021 to prevent further spread of the new variant of the corona virus. The mutation of the virus that was discovered in the United Kingdom may already be present in the Netherlands.

The Cabinet is aware of the fact that it is setting one flight ban a very serious measure, but considers this measure justified in view of the situation. A mutation of the virus has occurred in the UK and appears to be spreading very quickly. With a view to limiting the risk that this mutation will also spread in the Netherlands, RIVM has advised to limit the influx of people who may carry this into the Netherlands as much as possible. Following the advice of the RIVM, the Minister of Health, Welfare and Sport has requested that a flight ban be imposed on air traffic with passengers from the United Kingdom as of 20 December 2020 at 06.00:XNUMX local time. The Minister of Infrastructure and Water Management Cora van Nieuwenhuizen has followed this up. 

This flight ban comes into effect on Sunday, December 20 at 06.00 local time
time. It does not apply to the transportation of medical personnel when in it
