Today a huge cruise ship without passengers has arrived in the port of Rotterdam, the Mardi Gras. This cruise ship belongs to the American shipping company Carnival Cruise Line. The cruise ship is en route from Meyer Turku Finland where it was built to Port Canaveral Florida and will be operational for cruises there next year. The cruise ship will dock in the port of Rotterdam today to refuel with liquefied natural gas. The Mardi Gras can accommodate more than 5.200 guests and a crew of 2.000. Guests have a choice of over 2.600 staterooms and 180 suites in 11 categories. The ship's venues, dining and entertainment will be spread across six different zones. The centerpiece of the ship is a breathtaking three-deck high atrium with floor-to-ceiling windows and movable LED screens that open to stunning ocean views.

This cruise ship also has a roller coaster on board that is no less than 800 meters long with a hairpin curve around the ship's iconic funnel. The fully electric roller coaster can accommodate two riders in motorized vehicles that race 55 meters above the waterline and offer fantastic views of the sea below. The ship will operate seven-day Caribbean itineraries from Port Canaveral Florida. Carnival Cruise Line has worked closely with Port Canaveral to build a new cruise terminal for the Excel class ship and also to facilitate the new LNG fuel process. The maiden voyage for Mardi Gras is scheduled for April 24, 2021. This reports Carnival cruise line on their website.
