A joint start will be made on Wednesday 6 January. On that day the first people are vaccinated at the GGD injection site in Veghel and in hospitals. The new start date is the result of the action plan for vaccination of employees from direct COVID care in hospitals and ambulance services, which was drawn up in recent days under the leadership of LNAZ chairman Ernst Kuipers. The knowledge acquired by the GGDs in recent weeks is used for this.

Have already had the best phone call of the year. Yesterday I spoke with Sanna, a carer at the nursing home Het Wereldhuis in Boxtel, to congratulate her. Tomorrow she will receive the first corona vaccination at the GGD injection site in Veghel.

Ministers Hugo de Jonge (VWS) and Tamara van Ark (Medical Care and Sport) embraced the LNAZ plan today, after the implementation aspects have been assessed by RIVM. Minister De Jonge has subsequently opted for a joint start in consultation with LNAZ and GGD-GHOR. That's where it starts vaccinate of employees of nursing homes and employees in direct covid care on the same day: Wednesday, January 6.

On Wednesday, January 6, the vaccination of care workers in nursing homes and small-scale housing will start. The first people from this group of approximately 269.000 healthcare workers are vaccinated at the GGD injection locations in Veghel. From Friday, January 8, this is also possible in Rotterdam and Houten, and on Monday, January 11, Amsterdam, Drenthe and The Hague will also follow. As of January 15, all 25 GGD injection sites in the country have been opened for the administration of the COVID-19 vaccines. After the group of care workers from nursing homes and small-scale housing, care workers in care for the disabled (178.000 people), district nursing and WMO support (166.000 people) are also invited to make an appointment for vaccination.
