Aviation has reached the limits of its growth as far as the SGP is concerned. The number of flight movements must be reduced, given the environmental pollution it causes. The SGP is for the introduction of a substantial air passenger tax, nationally and if possible also European / international. The number of flight movements must be limited by introducing a substantial air passenger tax. For the SGP, research must be carried out into the construction of runways in the sea and the number of night flights must be reduced. The SGP in itself is in favor of relocating flights from Schiphol to a regional airport.

The SGP wants in her election program however, no set-up of Lelystad Airport as long as there are so-called low-flight routes. These low-flight routes over the Veluwe, among others, cause noise pollution in a large area. It must first be clear that the reorganization of the airspace makes it possible to quickly fly higher or that aircraft can leave via the IJsselmeer. Schiphol and other airports can close on Sundays. Also good for the environment, and it gives local residents a day of rest.

Roads, rail, waterways and cycle paths. It's all necessary to get us from A to B. Sufficient budget in the Infrastructure Fund is needed to tackle congestion bottlenecks and improve public transport. A special point of attention is the maintenance of bridges, viaducts, tunnels and locks. There is too much overdue maintenance, which means that faults occur too often. Sufficient money must be reserved for this. The traffic flow on, among other things, the A20 between Rotterdam and Gouda and at the A1 / A30 junction near Barneveld must be improved as a matter of priority. This also applies to unsafe and busy N-roads, such as the N59 (Goeree-Overflakkee), the N36 and the N50 (Overijssel), and the connection between the N11 and the A12 at Bodegraven.

Central government must invest sufficiently in regional public transport. A place like Staphorst is located along the track and deserves a station. The single rail line between Amersfoort and Ede must be adapted so that trains can run every XNUMX minutes. More effort from central government and other authorities is needed to ensure a smooth transfer from car, bus and bicycle to the train. More transferia and more space for parking cars and bicycles. Central government, together with other authorities, must work on more cycle paths and regional fast cycle routes.

Train traffic over the main rail network must remain in the hands of the NS. Regional rail lines are open to other rail companies. Ferry services deserve support. They prevent hundreds of millions of 'detour kilometers' every year. If provinces do not provide sufficient support, national agreements are necessary. Public transport must be easily accessible for the disabled.

'In trust'

The roots of the SGP are in Zeeland. The party was founded in Middelburg in 1918. The SGP and the kandidaten are therefore happy to work for this province. The SGP is committed to good train connections to and from Zeeland. Many Zeelanders work and study outside the province. On November 9, the SGP presented its 35 candidates. The SGP has paid attention to a good distribution of backgrounds and professions. For example, in addition to people with a lot of political experience, there are also care workers, teachers, entrepreneurs and farmers on the list. In addition, by choosing candidates from many different regions and provinces, almost all corners of the country are represented on the list.

Kees van der Staaij became a member of the House of Representatives in 1998 and has been chairman of the SGP since 2010.

In a small fraction, a lot of work is being done on each of the MPs. I feel fortunate to have done that work so far in a hardworking, dedicated and united team. I hope to be able to continue to do so in order to propagate the heart of the SGP message at the Binnenhof and beyond.
