RAI Association reports that compared to January last year, 20 percent fewer new passenger cars were registered in our country in the past month. The official figures from RDC BOVAG and RAI Association report that 2020 cars were registered in January 44.016, compared to 35.193 this year in January. That is a difference of no less than 8.823 passenger cars. The decrease can be explained, this is due to the closure of showrooms. Due to the corona crisis as a result of the lockdown measures, the showrooms have been closed since mid-December. As a result, no customers who come to see and buy cars.

BOVAG and RAI Vereniging hope that the new rule from the cabinet, click and collect, will ensure that car companies can start selling cars again in this way. The most registered car makes in January 2021 were Volkswagen, BMW, Skoda, KIA and Peugeot. The most registered car models in January 2021 were Volvo XC40, KIA Picanto, Skoda Octavia, Volkswagen Polo and Ford Focus.
