Last Monday, State Secretary for Economic Affairs and Climate, Mona Keijzer, opened the first practical test of the Fieldlab Events in the Beatrix Theater Utrecht. During a business conference with XNUMX visitors, it was investigated how large events can take place safely. It is the start of a series of practical tests. The cabinet uses the knowledge and insights gained as input to determine how to work towards safe and responsible events.

“Going back to normal, whether it concerns a conference with your colleagues, a sports match or a concert: everyone wants that. That is why these practical tests are so incredibly important. It not only offers prospects for entrepreneurs, but also for visitors. With these practical tests we do this safely and responsibly, taking into account the developments of the corona virus. And that is looking ahead. ”

There are conditions attached to these practical tests. For example, each participant must show a negative corona test (not older than 48 hours) and the temperature is measured upon arrival. As part of the research, the visitors are followed during the meeting with a motion sensor. This provides knowledge about how visitors behave in different situations and how events could take place safely. Afterwards, the visitors must undergo a new corona test.

It is the first practical test to take place. Seven more events follow. Other field tests taking place soon are one theater performance and two football matches. In addition, an indoor dance event and live concert and an outdoor dance event and live concert will take place.
