The Belgian travel organization Nordic – market leader in holidays to Scandinavia – is opening an office in the Netherlands. In addition to winter holidays to Lapland and Iceland for the 2021/22 season, Hurtigruten holidays - sea voyages along the coast of Norway - can soon be booked, as well as holidays to Norway, Sweden, Finland, Lapland, Faroe Islands and Iceland for the upcoming summer and autumn. The office is located in Nieuwegein. The tour operator was founded in 1980 and bought in 2008 by Maarten Raes. Hugo van Drie – who has worked for Eliza was here, Jiba and Sunweb for the past 19 years, among others – has been appointed director of the Dutch office.
Hugo van Drie expects a growing interest in Scandinavia and Iceland as a holiday destination in the future, partly because of the increasing need for less crowded travel destinations, the desire for more outdoor activities in nature and clean air. Also sees the travel company an increasing interest in a winter leisure holiday where the customer wants more than just skiing.

ANVR membership
Nordic has the ambition to become the leading provider of authentic travel experiences to nature destinations. Not only in terms of diversity in the holiday offer, including round trips, cycling and walking holidays, holidays aimed at families with young children, city trips, wildlife, cultural and culinary trips, but also in terms of variety in accommodations. Think of hotels, log cabins, lodges, group accommodations, ice hotels, holiday homes and overnight stays between treetops.
The employees of Nordic know the regions through and through and visited all the accommodations offered themselves in order to fully tailor the offer to Dutch and Belgian preferences. Nordic is affiliated with the Belgian Travel Guarantee Fund and the application for ANVR membership has now been submitted.
