In the coming months we can wait for a series of lawsuits and many problems with travel companies. Consumers were asked to wait a year for previously paid holiday allowances and to accept a voucher. Those who have not booked a package holiday may try to claim their unsolicited voucher in the coming month. In the meantime, D-Reizen is taking the SGR and the State of the Netherlands to court, because it threatens to fish behind the net at the voucher fund. D-Reizen had previously issued its own vouchers with the permission of SGR, but because the company acts as an intermediary and does not offer package tours itself, it cannot claim the voucher fund.

Travel organizations are now obliged to pay out the vouchers within one year. The voucher fund had to offer a solution for the financially troubled travel organizations, but Brussels is now the culprit. The voucher fund is still awaiting approval, but there appears to be a complaint in Brussels causing a delay in the release of the fund.

Corendon says it cannot pay back

The cabinet has set up a voucher fund in particular to accommodate small travel organizations. This pot contains 400 million euros, which the sector can use as a bridging loan in the form of a loan. In an email to duped customers, Corendon cites the voucher fund that is not yet active as the main reason for the delay in repayment.

Over the past year, the sector continued to hope for better times to pay off debts with new income. But there is the problem. Despite great promises and advertisements in the newspaper where they keep making promises for trips that will not take place, the consumer does not get caught. On the contrary, after a year of waiting, now is the time to pay back. Corendon informed the customers that it would not deal with money and also hid behind Brussels.
