The trade union ACOD is crying out for security at Antwerp airport. According to the socialist union, it threatens Deurne sooner or later to end wrong. The equipment that the control room service has to use is worn out, it clicks. According to the local transmitter ATV, gates often cannot be operated properly. The ACOD indicates that there is some kind of defect almost every day. Security and cameras also fail every now and then. The staff has raised the issues several times, but they are not listened to. According to the union, there is no money for solutions.

Antwerp Airport received 71,3% fewer passengers last year. A total of 88.036 passengers passed through the airport. (306.330 in 2019). The airport is optimistic about the new year and is convinced that its small scale can create an extra safe environment for its passengers. 2020 started very promising for Antwerp Airport. The airport performed with almost 40.000 passengers, 26% better compared to the same period in 2019. With these figures we are heading for another record year.
