Despite the Consultation Committee has taken a series of additional measures to limit the spread of the corona virus, the regular activities continue. This is in contrast to the Netherlands, where the backlog is almost impossible to catch up. However, all driving courses, driving exams and the technical inspection can continue to take place.

“A driver's license is important for many people for the performance of their job. In addition, drivers are important in many essential sectors such as the logistics sector, public transport and patient transport. ”

All driving courses, the compulsory return moment, all driving exams and professional competence refresher courses (code 95) can continue to take place. As a result of the corona pandemic, driver training courses and driving tests had to be suspended for several weeks in 2020. This created a backlog that is gradually being cleared thanks to the efforts of the sectors concerned. In this way we walk, according to Lydia Peeters, no further delays and all activities can continue.

schedule your appointment in time

The statutory deadlines for the training, exams and the return have already been extended until September 30, 2021. This gives novice drivers more time, but it is still recommended to make an appointment in time. This is to avoid that there are no more places available before September 30th.

All inspection centers remain open and all technical inspections of vehicles can take place. If you already had an appointment, that appointment will continue to apply. Some inspection centers work both with and without an appointment, while others work by appointment only (preferably online). Here, too, it is essential to plan your visit in time. Visit the testing center website for specific instructions.

Driving schools, driving tests and technical inspections all work according to special safety measures so that the service can be provided optimally and safely, for both employees and customers.

Flemish minister Lydia Peeters emphasizes to continue to strictly observe these regulations. "In this way, we keep health risks to employees and customers to a strict minimum and we can keep these vital sectors open."
