The cabinet wants to reopen the terraces on 21 April and lift the curfew. Sources from The Hague confirm this after a report from RTL Nieuws. These relaxation of the corona measures will still be submitted to the Outbreak Management Team (OMT) first, and also depend on how the contamination figures develop further in the coming week.

The cabinet also wants students in higher education to be able to physically attend lectures again. They must then be tested in advance and adhere to the corona rules, such as keeping a distance of 1,5 meters. More may also be possible for shops, but insiders are still unsure whether this relaxation will make it to the finish line. They also point out that shops can already receive customers by appointment or have items collected.

Next Tuesday, outgoing Prime Minister Mark Rutte and Minister of Health Hugo de Jonge will hold a press conference again. They will then unfold a plan to gradually reopen society. The next 'weighing moment' is two weeks later; then it becomes clear what is possible during the May holiday. The cabinet hopes that few or no restrictions will apply in the summer period.

It was already announced that many sectors will be able to receive visitors again on a limited scale this month. They must then make an appointment and have themselves tested in advance. They must also always keep a distance of 1,5 meters and wear a mouth mask inside. The trial applies to museums, zoos and sports facilities, among other things.

Minister Ferd Grapperhaus spoke again with the mayors of the Security Council on Tuesday. Afterwards he said that the cabinet is working on an opening plan.
