With an impressive story, Astrid Pieterse from Ridderkerk has raised serious doubts about the cuts in WMO transport that the Municipal Executive has implemented. She did so as a speaker at a municipal council committee meeting held this week. She believes the cut is contrary to the United Nations (UN) Convention on the Rights of the Disabled.

"It is our human right to get transportation in the way and at the time of our choice, at an affordable price."

According to it Ridderkerks Dagblad Councilor Arianne Ripmeester (PvdA) states that a widely supported motion by the city council about the cutbacks cannot be considered as closed. This means that the position of the Municipal Executive will be discussed in a subsequent council meeting at the discretion of the municipal council. That will probably not be until June.
