The Fieldlab pilot in Efteling on Saturday 24 April will be canceled. The number of registrations for this pilot, approximately 4.000 instead of the intended 8.000, is not sufficient for a thorough and useful research, according to lead researcher from Fieldlab Andreas Voss and Breda University of Applied Sciences. That is why it was decided to stop the preparations and to cancel the investigation.

According to the amusement park, they think that the partial opening of the park, the commotion surrounding the 538 event and the conditions for participation in the Fieldlab pilot, such as taking a corona test before and after the visit, have led to an insufficient number of registrations. .

Efteling will not open on Saturday for the Fieldlab test event. 4000 interested parties have registered while it was expected to be 8000 and that number is too little to do thorough research, Fieldlab reports Wednesday.

Possible reopening of Efteling on 11 May

Also the prospect of a possible reopening of the Efteling may have played a role in the insufficient number of participants. The cabinet's step-by-step plan announced that theme parks may reopen on 11 May.
