GO Green, the holding company behind GO Sharing, has raised € 50 million in an investment round. With the investment, GO Sharing, the Dutch scale-up in electric shared transport, will strengthen its proposition in electric shared scooters and expand with e-bikes and electric cars. The capital injection will also accelerate the international rollout. In addition to the Netherlands, GO Sharing is already active in Austria and this week the company started with 500 electric scooters in Antwerp. In the coming months, GO Sharing will start in Germany, the United Kingdom and Turkey.

The € 50 million investment is led by the investment company Opportunity Partners. The founders of GO Sharing also invest in the company. Existing shareholder Rabo Investments supports the arrival of the new shareholder. With the new capital injection, sustainable growth in the vehicle fleet will be continued and the service network will be expanded. There is also further focus on smart technology that is of great value to the organization and its users.

Multimodal partial transport
GO Sharing will also use the funding raised to make its offer of shared transport multimodal. Preparations to add e-bikes and later electric cars to the proposition are at an advanced stage. Sister company GreenMo, which acquired a majority stake in e-bike to go in the previous months and took over the Belgian zZoomer, will support GO Sharing in the expansion. The company already leases over 10.000 e-bikes in the delivery market.

Raymon Pouwels, CEO of GO Sharing, explains: “We will soon be introducing e-bikes and electric cars that can be booked via our app, just like our shared scooters.. The e-bikes are a healthy alternative for short trips in the city. The electric cars will be strategically placed on the outskirts of cities, so that they become part of the journey between cities: a spearhead in our mission to replace vehicle ownership with integrated shared mobility. ”

International expansion
GO Sharing is now also preparing further international expansion, which will be made possible by the investment. In doing so, the scale-up focuses on cities that want to reduce CO2 emissions and solve similar problems as their Dutch counterparts: traffic congestion and a shortage of parking spaces.

This week GO Sharing also started in Belgium. The company starts by installing 500 electric scooter sharing in Antwerp. Earlier this month, GO Sharing already introduced its service in the Austrian capital; Vienna. In the Netherlands, GO Sharing is the market leader with more than 5.000 electric scooter sharing in 30 regions.

Pouwels continues: “A green planet with mobility for everyone, for everyone, is GO Sharing's motto. We want to achieve a change in behavior together with the users of GO Sharing: from 'everyone has their own vehicle' to 'use when you need it', worldwide. We are currently working on an introduction in several European countries, including Germany, the UK and Turkey. Countries where GreenMo is already successfully present. ”
