Get on the train in Brussels or Amsterdam in the evening and wake up the next morning in Prague. European Sleepers and RegioJet want to run a night train between the cities of Brussels and Prague via Amsterdam and Berlin in the spring of 2022. The night train is a sustainable way of making a city trip to Prague and can be used as a starting point for a train journey in the Czech Republic.

Night train to Prague

At the beginning of April, European Sleepers announced that they want to run a night train between the cities of Brussels, Amsterdam, Berlin and Prague in the spring of 2022. The purpose of the train is to allow more people to travel in a sustainable way and to show how pleasant and efficient the night train is as a means of transport. The train has to run three times a week and will leave in the evening and arrive in Prague the following morning. The same goes for the return journey. Prices and travel time are still unknown, but European Sleepers said they would dare to compete with the plane.

Arriving in the heart of Europe

The night train to Prague will be a godsend for many train enthusiasts and advocates of sustainable travel. Travelers arrive right in the center of Prague and can easily continue their train journey to another destination. Trains run from Prague's main train station to Vienna, Krakow and numerous places in the country itself. For example, it is an hour and a half travel to the beer city of Pilsen and the Moravian city of Brno can be reached within three hours by train from RegioJet, Leo Express or České dráhy.

Tips for a train journey through the Czech Republic

Prague is a perfect start and end point for a train journey through the Czech Republic. The country has the densest rail network in Europe. Many villages and even nature parks can be reached by train. Nature lovers can, for example, take the following train route to the nature parks Bohemian Switzerland and Bohemian Paradise. From the town of Liberec, there are also numerous possibilities for excursions, such as taking the cable car to the mountain Ještěd or taking a walk in the Jizera Mountains.

A train trip to Czech cities is of course also possible. Take a tour from Prague to some student cities in Moravia. After Prague, the city of Český Krumlov is the most visited. This historic city is located in the south of Bohemia and can be easily reached by train via České Budějovice. From Český Krumlov the train journey can be continued to the Bohemian Forest National Park. This route is one of the most beautiful Czech Republic and goes through forests, along peat bogs and small stations. There is a train from the nature park to Pilsen. From Pilsen it is possible to take a train back to the Czech capital.
