About the LF Coastal Route

The 610 km long LF Coastal Route is characterized by elongated dune strips along the Dutch coast and through the islands of South Holland and Zeeland. Small seaside towns and historic towns make for fun stops along the way. Along the Wadden coast, the route runs through one of the quietest and least populated parts of the Netherlands with various authentic (terp) villages and towns. Highlights on the route enhance the experience. The route is fully signposted in two directions and is supported by the website, app and cycling guide. When you return home, there is a suitable reminder to request: a shield to stick on the frame, and a personal certificate. Cycling along the Dutch coast means cycling with the wind in your hair. Sometimes with the wind, sometimes against the wind, but you always 'taste' the wonderful coastal feeling.

Development of LF weekend trips

Routebureau Groningen has developed the two Groningen LF weekend trips in collaboration with the Fietsplatform (initiator of the Netherlands Fietsland), Waddenland Promotion Foundation, Top van Groningen, Marketing Oldambt, Visit Wadden and Marketing Groningen. It Bicycle platform stimulates regional initiators such as DMOs and route bureaus in the development of these routes from a supporting role.
