Sunny and summery to tropical warm holiday weather is not possible for the time being, but the summer holiday for the North region starts with great weather for outdoor activities. According to Jaco van Wezel from Weatheronline Next week will be an alternation of clouds, sun, a few showers and maximums of 20-25 degrees. Most of the time it is dry, but sometimes part of the day falls into the water due to the passage of a shower area.

Summer delights are not in it at the start of the holiday. That is bad news for those who want to sunbathe on the beach, a recreational lake or at an outdoor pool. But in general, the weather is fine for all other outdoor activities. Next week it will often be about 21 degrees on the coast and 22-24 degrees inland. In Limburg, the summer 25 degrees can sometimes be achieved. Sometimes it is just a bit warmer or a bit cooler, but large outliers are not expected.

These temperatures are very normal for the time of year and the weather pattern is also typical of the Dutch summer. A mix of clouds, sun and a few showers is expected. Much of the time it is dry with sunny periods. The wind is only weak to moderate and therefore it quickly feels good. Sometimes a shower area passes and that can disrupt holiday activities. If it is sunny in the middle of the day, sun power 6-7 is achieved. This means that between 12 and 15 hours, unprotected skin can burn within 10-30 minutes.

Long-term uncertainty

It may become warmer and sunnier at the end of next week, but the uncertainty is great. What is clear is that the chances of precipitation are gradually decreasing. The wind direction ultimately determines how warm it will be. If the wind blows from the east to northeast, the temperature quickly rises to 25-30 degrees in large parts of the country. There are also calculations where the wind blows from the north to the northwest. In that case, the afternoon temperature will remain at 20-25 degrees.
