The beach of Scheveningen is one work of art richer. The huge sunglasses are an artistic reference to looking ahead. A new perspective and a nod to the sun, sea and a good feeling. The robust artwork depicts enormous sunglasses measuring ten by ten meters and just under three meters high. With the cheerful artwork they want to offer a hospitable welcome and hope to inspire and connect visitors. The artwork can be seen throughout the summer and will be moved several times to another location to show how versatile Scheveningen is.

The Hague is a real bicycle city. All sights are easily accessible by bike. You will find the Haagsche Stadsfiets everywhere and you can pick it up in the well-known cozy Keizerstraat. Book your bike online at one of the bicycle rental locations in Scheveningen or in the center of The Hague. Cycle the most beautiful routes and receive free route maps with nice cycling nodes, for example towards Katwijk or Kijkduin.

While on the one hand visitors are welcomed hospitably, the municipality also tries to limit nuisance as much as possible. The council has therefore drawn up an action plan together with the residents to reduce the nuisance during the beach season. The interventions are becoming increasingly visible. A barrier will soon be erected on the beach road so that parking is only possible there for a fee. The Strandweg is now closed by traffic controllers at busy times.
HTM unpacks with the bikini line
Some think it's super cute. Humor with a "wink" of which we could use a little more of it in the Netherlands instead of pushing everything to a head straight away. That there fuss would come over, you could wait for that. It's just a fun pun and who's to say this joke wasn't created by a woman, Natalie Storm, within HTM? “Must be kidding”, says Bruno Bruins, director of the HTM about the name of the new cheerful tram to the beach of Scheveningen. At the very least you can find this pun creative and well thought out or is it more of an 'old men' joke from Scheveningen that was portrayed? You immediately know which tram to take to the beach when you are at Holland Spoor station in The Hague.

Expedition Scheveningen
Come to the beach of Scheveningen with your friends on Monday 9 August. “Expedition Scheveningen” is a variant of the well-known Expedition Robinson and consists of various sporty and challenging tests. From puzzle course to breathtaking relay race with various obstacles. There are also experiments with water, making fire and building a giant catapult! Expedition Scheveningen is organized by the event agency Beleving aan Zee in collaboration with Beachclub Copacabana, on behalf of Stichting Breed Geluk.
