The Dutch Railways reports that major maintenance work will be carried out on the track between Roosendaal and Vlissingen this weekend. This weekend, Saturday 28 and Sunday 29 August, there will not even be any train traffic between Bergen op Zoom and Vlissingen. Also after the weekend there will be maintenance work on the track between Goes and Vlissingen, here the trains cannot run until Friday 3 September.

The maintenance work includes drainage, cable and pipe work, renewal of switches, renewal of ballast gravel, renewal of sleepers and renewal of rails. Maintenance work is of course necessary to allow travelers to travel safely and reliably.

NS is trying to keep disruption to passengers on the track where maintenance work is taking place to a minimum. NS will operate on Saturday 28 and Sunday 29 August on the route Bergen op Zoom – Vlissingen with NS stop and express buses. Taxi buses run on the route between Arnemuiden – Goes and between Arnemuiden and Middelburg. The trains between Roosendaal and Bergen op Zoom have a modified timetable.

After the weekend, the trains between Goes and Roosendaal will run again according to a normal timetable. On the Goes – Vlissingen route, there will be a service from Monday 30 September to Friday 3 September NS– buses and taxis between Arnemuiden and Middelburg. The trains between Roosendaal and Goes have a modified timetable. Train passengers should take into account approximately 30 minutes extra travel time.
