Uniglobe Travel expects business travel to recover within two years. This expectation stems from a recent survey of the business travel company's customers. No less than 76,4% of the respondents said they expect a recovery from business travel within 0-2 years after the travel restrictions are lifted, 81% of the respondents say they travel less because of the travel restrictions imposed by the Dutch and foreign governments. Just under 10% cite health and/or risk of corona infection as a reason to travel less and another 10% of the respondents mention the possibility of online meetings/video calling.

“We have known for some time that Uniglobe customers travel efficiently and cost-consciously, whereby they do not travel more often, longer or with more people than necessary. Especially for our target group, medium-sized companies, it is essential to go on a business trip and I expect this segment to recover earlier. We see that our customers need physical contact and face-2-face meetings. Online meetings and video calling cannot replace this. ”

The survey also shows that more than half of the respondents expect to travel as much as before the corona pandemic. In addition, it appears that companies want to pay more attention to sustainability and are more likely to opt for alternative solutions mobilitysuch as the train, on the shorter distances. It is the fluctuating travel advice from the government, vaccination or testing obligations and the jumble of different corona measures per country that cause a lot of frustration among companies and business travelers.
