Transport companies are joining forces to initiate the route to a sustainable transport sector. DFDS transitions to 20 brand new LNG-powered trucks through Don Trucking, providing the opportunity to reduce carbon dioxide emissions and create a transparent supply chain for customers

More and more customers want companies to be transparent about their greenhouse gas emissions and to know how they deal with the sustainability of their products and offers. Recognizing the issue of climate change and understanding the need to be sustainably aware, DFDS commits to Don Trucking to achieve a transparent supply chain by converting 20 diesel trucks to 20 brand new LNG-powered trucks for their day-to-day operations. This change will also reduce the company's own carbon footprint and will make heavy haulage companies aware that they must strive for a better and sustainable future within the industry.

Don Trucking fleet

Don Trucking currently has 20 LNG trucks in its fleet and will add another 40 by the end of the year. Don Trucking aims to become the first carbon neutral transport company in Europe by 2 and plans to achieve this by fully switching to a low-emission fleet. In addition, Don Trucking supports Ecobal, an international initiative to conserve and revive forests in Europe, to further offset their greenhouse gas emissions through emissions certificates, reducing their overall carbon footprint by 2025%. The collaboration between the two companies came about organically, simply by sharing the same values and vision of the future.

“We are continuously working on improving our operations and transportation visibility to provide our customers with the best possible service with a fully transparent supply chain. Only together can we achieve 100% supply chain transparency. This partnership is to raise awareness among others within the industry and solution as multimodal transport. We are trying to focus on improving our industry and the use of LNG - powered trucks gives us the opportunity to do this. We are very pleased to have partners who share and inspire the same values to make the logistics chain greener by using fossil-free biofuels.”

“I believe this partnership is an effective action against climate change when it comes to neutralizing carbon emissions by building a transparent supply chain. We need active initiatives and that starts with ourselves. The partnerships between individuals and large companies are vital. Any company can improve its environmental goals, and many companies don't even have them yet. It is very important to understand the sustainable market shift and take action now, as transport services continue to grow and additional efforts are needed in the coming years ."

Due to the climatic effects of the many different activities that a company undertakes on a daily basis, Don Trucking together with DFDS see that knowing one's own carbon footprint is becoming an obligation, especially within the heavy transport sector.
